Astronaut Neil Armstong

I met him in 1974 on the fifth anniversary of his landing on the moon. I was Promotion Director for the Cincinnati Reds and we invited him to throw out the ceremonial first pitch to honor the historic occasion.

Roger Ruhl Turns 80

Daughter Becky, her husband Joe and former wife Lynne organized a Roger's 80th Birthday Party at a Reds-Red Sox game in the Club Level area at Great American Ball Park in June 2024. Fifty good friends were on hand to celebrate.

Two friends from Roger's days the with Cincinnati Reds stopped by his 80th birthday party at Great American Ball Park ... long-time radio broadcaster Marty Brennaman whom Roger had a hand in hiring in 1974 and mascot Mr. Red whose first head Roger purchased from Ice Capades for $1,000.

A Monthly Wine Tasting

A neighbor couple invited me to join a wine tasting group that gets together monthly. When a recent event fell on the same date as Academy Awards Night, she suggested we dress in "red carpet attire." I did, though it took a lot of time to find all my black tie stuff.
